HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - The 2019-20 school year provided plenty of highlights on the court, the fields and the mat.

CentenaryCyclones.com polled members of the coaching and athletics staff for their top 10 moments from the last school year. Starting next week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the top 10 will be unveiled.

Today CentenaryCyclones.com moves to number nine with a record breaking performance that helped the men's soccer team clinch the top spot in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoffs.
Alot of times, all anyone wants to talk about after a soccer game is who scored the game-winning goal. The guy who passed the ball to the scorer is just as important especially if you ask Centenary men's soccer midfielder Jahn Lopez.

Lopez's nine assists entering the regular season finale at the College of Saint Elizabeth had the Cyclones on the verge of clinching the number one seed for the CSAC Tournament but they had to win that last game.

The sophomore contributed in a big way, tying his career-high with three assists in the 7-0 victory and breaking the school record for single-season assists in the process.

With the Cyclones leading 2-0 at the half, Lopez picked up the helper on each of the first two goals of the second stanza. His assist on Tom Parry's goal at the 63:56 mark broke Andrew Pinella's mark of 10 that was set in 2010.

He picked up his third assist of the day on the game's sixth goal and finished the season with 12. The Cyclones found out on their way home that they had clinched the top spot for the upcoming playoffs.

CentenaryCyclones.com asked head coach Josh Spivack for his thoughts on Lopez's performance not just in that game but throughout the season: "As first a player and now a coach, when I realized Jahn had broke the assist record I was amazed," said Spivack. "Assists do not get the glory, but are one of the hardest stats to provide with consistency. Jahn's unselfishness this past season will never go unnoticed."
