HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University men's soccer team battled to a hard-fought 2-2 tie against conference opponent Pratt Institute on Wednesday evening.
The Cyclones came out firing early, striking first in the 8th minute when
Brian Osorio found the back of the net to give Centenary a 1-0 lead. The early goal energized the squad, as the Cyclones maintained pressure and controlled much of the first half.
Pratt, however, capitalized on a pair of scoring chances later in the match to take a 2-1 advantage. Centenary refused to back down, and in the 86th minute,
Harison Samayoa Lopez came through in the clutch, netting the equalizer to bring the score even at 2-2.
The Cyclones created plenty of offensive opportunities throughout the match, recording 12 shots on goal, but couldn't find the game-winner before time expired.
With the draw, Centenary continues to show resilience in conference play as they look to convert their strong attacking efforts into wins.
The Cyclones will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup as they continue their conference slate.
