Men’s Centenary Cyclones Vs Saint Elizabeth

The Cyclones faced Saint Elizabeth on senior night in a matchup filled with
urgency and emotion. Both teams took the floor with energy, their voices echoing
through the gym as they moved through crisp shooting drills and warmup layups.
At the opening tip, Justin Carbone and Roman Carone set the tone early,
attacking the basket with strong finishes through contact.
Saint Elizabeth jumped out with early momentum in the first quarter, but the
Cyclones responded by matching the intensity with efficient ball movement and
aggressive defense that sparked fast-break opportunities.
Although Saint Elizabeth maintained a narrow lead, the Cyclones stayed
composed on both ends of the floor. Devin Strickland provided a spark with a
smooth fast-break layup, shifting momentum back in favor of the home team. As
the game tightened and the physicality increased, the Cyclones capitalized at the
free-throw line, battling back despite trailing by three. The team played with heart
and grit, refusing to allow Saint Elizabeth to pull away. As halftime approaches
the score is 37-41 It’s a close game and both teams are putting up an intense
fight on the court head coach Chris Labelle and his team are looking forward to
entering the second half with renewed momentum and efficient enthusiasm on
offense and defense.
The second half begins and both teams are playing aggressive and hustling as
we hear the squeaks of the court and the sound of the basketball dribbling.
Kenneth Rankin gets his team going with two strong drives to the basket
following up with a fast break dunk that erupted the crowd with excitement. The
beginning of the quarter started off competitively with a back and fourth battle,
Cyclones scored one possession and Saint Elizabeth responded. The offensive
rhythm slowed up for both teams as fouls were getting called but that didn’t
prevent our Cyclones from executing their mission to secure the win.
Darnell forest tied the game up with a clutch three pointer to tie the game,
following up with two free throws to give the Cyclones their first lead of the game.
The back and forth battle continued between both teams as the game was very
close.
With an intense battle tonight the Cyclones victory remains the headline of the
night. The team battled through adversity, maintained their composure for most of
the contest, and secured a hard fought win at home. Coach Chris Labelle and his
team move ahead in conference play, the Cyclones remain focused on growth,
unity and finishing strong channeling their energy where it matters most.
Men’s Centenary Cyclones Vs Marymount

Both teams took the court locked in, warming up with layup lines and shooting drills as
they loosened up ahead of tip-off. The excitement was evident throughout the gym, from
the buzz of the crowd to the familiar squeak of sneakers on the hardwood. It was clear
early on that both teams were ready to compete.
Justin Carbone got the Cyclones on the board first with an open layup, while Marywood
began to build momentum of their own. The opening minutes featured a gritty
back-and-forth battle, with both teams engaged in a physical dogfight on both ends of the
floor. As the Cyclones searched for their offensive rhythm, they made their presence felt
on the glass and moved the ball well to generate scoring opportunities.
Marywood’s physical style of play led to several foul calls and turnovers, disrupting the
Cyclones’ offensive flow early. Eventually, Devin Strickland, Kenneth Rankin, and Justin
Carbone were able to break through and score, helping Centenary regain momentum.
Naire Preston added a strong drive to the basket and knocked down a three-pointer,
closing the half on a positive note.
Despite the late surge, the Cyclones entered halftime trailing 25–20. Head Coach Chris
Labelle and his team looked ahead to the second half with renewed focus, aiming to
capitalize on new opportunities and push for the lead.
As the final quarter began, the Cyclones came out with urgency. Devin Strickland
sparked the offense with a three-pointer, followed by Justin Carbone finishing strong at
the rim. With the score tightening, both teams elevated their play, competing with
intensity on both ends of the floor and applying constant pressure.
Marywood continued to find success by crashing the boards and converting layup
opportunities, allowing them to build a lead. However, the Cyclones matched the energy,
hustling on defense, moving the ball efficiently, and refusing to back down in a physical
battle. Even while trailing, Centenary continued to fight, staying locked in and competing
possession by possession.
The final score was 65–55 as the Cyclones fell short after an intense battle. Despite the
result, they displayed heart, grit, and resilience throughout the matchup. As the season
continues, Coach Labelle and his team remain focused and motivated, determined to
carry this effort forward into their next game.
Women’s Centenary Cyclones Vs Marymount

Before the opening tip-off, warmups were underway as the gym filled with the steady
rhythm of bouncing basketballs, layup lines, and shooting drills. Players moved with
purpose, loosening their bodies while mentally preparing for the battle ahead. As
teammates stretched and encouraged one another, the tone was set for a focused and
competitive performance.
The Lady Cyclones opened warmups running a three-man weave full-court passing drill
that finished with layups while also mixing in ball-handling drills to stay sharp before
tip-off. Even the officials stayed active, jogging up and down the floor to match the pace
and tempo of the game.
Vatijah Davis got the Cyclones going early, knocking down a clean three-pointer with
support from teammates Jasmine Sampong, Kayla Sampong, and Alexa Osafo. Both
teams opened the game with physical play, crashing the boards and battling for defensive
stops. The Cyclones showcased efficient ball movement to generate open shot
opportunities, while Marymount refused to back down despite trailing by as many as ten
to fourteen points. The first quarter set a physical tone, with bodies colliding in the paint
and neither team willing to give ground.
Ashanti Dewalt and Sofia Mendez helped maintain momentum with a clean jump shot,
while the Cyclones continued to apply aggressive defensive pressure even as their offense
worked to find rhythm. As the clock hit halftime, the score stood at 27–23, with the
Cyclones holding a four-point lead. Head coach Rose Haller looked to secure the win
heading into the second half.
Both teams returned with intensity as physical play continued on both ends of the floor.
The Cyclones tightened their offense as Vatijah Davis sparked the team with two
consecutive three-pointers. The intensity spilled beyond the stat sheet, as even inbound
passes were met with verbal pressure from fans in the bleachers.
The final quarter turned into a true battlefield, with both teams locked in and the crowd
fully engaged. Marywood fought back relentlessly, eventually gaining their first lead of
the game and shifting momentum. Despite the pressure, the Cyclones continued to battle
until the final buzzer.
Although the Cyclones fell short, 50–45, they showed incredible effort, resilience, and
teamwork throughout the matchup. Coach Rose Haller and her squad look ahead to their
next matchup with renewed focus and momentum.
Men’s Centenary Cyclones Vs Pratt institute

As both teams prepared for battle on the court, warmups began with layup lines and
shooting drills to get players loose for another matchup. The Cyclones opened the
game strong, showcasing efficient ball movement that led to two early layups from
Devin Strickland and Naire Preston. Defensively, Centenary showed resilience, forcing
stops that turned into fast-break opportunities.
Pratt Institute refused to back down, matching the Cyclones’ intensity and bringing a
physical presence on both ends of the floor. Despite the pressure, Centenary
maintained control by playing aggressive defense and crashing the boards. As the
game grew more competitive, Jassir Lane helped seal momentum with a strong finish at
the rim, followed by a made free throw.
Although trailing on the scoreboard, Pratt Institute continued to show resilience and
determination, refusing to back down as the intensity increased on both ends. The score
at halftime is 42-31. Our Cyclones still hold the lead in a physical battle with Pratt
Institute. Coach Chris and his team are looking forward to entering the second half,
bringing the same competitiveness to secure the victory.
As the second half began, the Cyclones worked to find their rhythm on offense while
continuing to apply relentless pressure on defense. Their defensive effort disrupted their
opponents and helped close the gap as both teams went neck and neck. The squeaks
of sneakers on the court and the physical style of play energized the crowd, adding to
the excitement as the matchup intensified. The game remained close as the Cyclones
maintained their lead despite the physicality. Both teams matched each other’s intensity
despite the close game.
The Cyclones secure the win 65-63 after a hard-fought victory, capped off by Kenneth
Rankin's clutch game-winning shot. In a back-and-forth battle that demanded toughness
on both ends of the floor, the Cyclones showed composure when it mattered most,
finishing the night with a statement win fueled by resilience, execution, and collective
effort. The Cyclones look forward to carrying this momentum into their next matchup
Women’s Centenary Cyclones Vs Saint
Elizabeth

The Cyclones tipped off against Saint Elizabeth as Alexa Osafo, Vatijah Davis,
and Jasmine Sampong set the tone early, sealing momentum with three strong
layups. Saint Elizabeth showed resilience and refused to back down, opening the
game with a surge of three-point shooting that put Centenary on its heels.
Despite the early deficit, the Cyclones responded with disciplined defense, clear
communication, and strong ball movement. With senior leader Sofia Mendez
checking into the game, Centenary began to settle in, focused on regaining
control and shifting momentum. Head Coach Rose emphasized composure and
execution as the Cyclones looked to regain the lead. Saint Elizabeth responded
by knocking down jump shots, leading our cyclones to strategize a gameplan to
get back in the lead. Vatijah Davis is working effortlessly to get her team back in
this game with extra layups on fast-break opportunities, including driving to the
basket and leading up to free throws. The girls got defensive rebounds while
trying to find the rhythm offensively. It took some time, but the girls ended the first
half down 4 points, 38-41.
Coach Rose and her team are looking forward to entering the second half,
generating new momentum, emphasizing defensive pressure, and disciplined
execution on both ends of the floor. Centenary started off the second half with
renewed energy, tightening up defensively and scoring wide-open shots. Both
teams are playing competitively, but our Cyclones have regained the lead by
crashing the offensive boards. Saint Elizabeth managed to respond with layups,
forcing the Cyclones to stay composed as the game turned into a back-and-forth
battle. Ashanti Dewalt maintains the lead for the Cyclones as she sets her team
up with layups and relentless driving to the basket.
The final score was 77-64 as the Cyclones secured the win. They showed
intensity, heart, and grit throughout the game, refusing to back down even in the
close contest. The Cyclones are looking forward to continuing this momentum in
their next matchup.
