HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University women's lacrosse team has qualified for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament for the first time since 2016.
The Cyclones, who finished fifth in the league standings, were bumped up and into the playoff picture after Bryn Athyn was forced to withdraw. As the fourth seed, the Cyclones will travel to top seeded Notre Dame on Thursday, April 22.
Centenary went 1-4 on the year, earning its win at Cedar Crest. The Cyclones were led by attacker
Kaylee Bennett, who scored a team-best 16 goals to go along with seven ground balls and five caused turnovers. Attacker
Madison Barofski contributed eight goals and one assist along with 13 ground balls.
Midfielder
Keirra Doyle has done a little bit of everything for the Cyclones this season. She has contributed four goals, four assists, 14 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and 14 draw controls. Goalkeeper
Jenyfer Pereira has made 52 saves for the Cyclones.
Notre Dame earned the top seed after posting a perfect 5-0 mark this season.
Sara Morales led the Gators with 37 points on 22 goals and 15 assists and also contributed 47 draw controls.
Kelsey Campbell has contributed 23 goals and eight assists. Goalkeeper
Marie Salas has made 33 saves on the year.
When the two teams met in the regular season, Notre Dame earned the 20-6 victory. Campbell had seven goals to lead the Gators in that contest while Bennett contributed four goals for the Cyclones.
The winner of Thursday's game advances to take on the winner of #2 Wilson/#3 Keystone in the CSAC Championship game on Saturday, April 24.
