Cyclones Roll Through The Devils To Wrap Up Their Season

Madison, NJ: The Cyclones traveled to FDU to take on the Devils in a mid-week double header. The Cyclones would go on to sweep the Devils 3-2, and 9-6 as they wrapped up their 2024 season on a high note. The Clones concluded their season with a 17-22 recordĀ 

Game One

The first game of the double header went into extra innings, after the Devils tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Cyclones offense batted .333 after recording a total of ten hits in the game. As a team, the Clones offense drove in all three of their runs with the game winning run coming off of a sac fly to left field from Joseph Frei. Getting the start on the mound for the Cyclones was, Anthony Spungin. The first year pitcher went on to toss four innings, allowing just one earned run. Adam Yarrison would be credited with the win after throwing two and on-third innings allowing no runs. Junior, Zach Gehman picked up his first save of the season after striking out the only batter he faced. Game Two

The Cyclones offense would continue to find success at the plate driving in a total of nine runs in game two. At the plate, the Clones recorded thirteen base hits, three extra base hits, and drew three walks. On the bases, the Cyclones swiped two bases putting them at a total of ninety-seven steals on the season. Starting on the mound for game two was, first year pitcher Tyler Voltaire. Jackson Ponzo threw two and one-third innings in relief in route to his first win of the season. Ponzo allowed zero runs, and just two base hits. Seniors, Nick Guiro and Aidan Hixenbaugh each came out of the bullpen and allowed one run each. Zach Gehman would pick up his second save of the day and season after striking out one batter and forcing the final batter to fly out to centerfield.
