Top 10 Moments from 2021-22 – No. 7
Sometimes a key hit is all you need.
After falling in a pair of tough contests to Marywood, the Centenary baseball team was looking for a key hit and a win in the second game of their doubleheader with the Pacers.
In a back-and-forth contest, Marywood scored one run in the top of the eighth and fourth in the top of the ninth to take an 8-4 advantage.
Down to their final at-bat in, the Cyclones found a way to rally.
Paul Links pulled the Cyclones to within two, 8-6 with his single to left. After Marywood got the second out of the inning,Â
Nicholas Gattuso drove a ball just inside the foul pole in left field for his first career home run. Gattuso's round tripper tied the game at 8-8.
Gattuso's home run sent the game to extra innings and allowed the Cyclones to secure 9-8 win on a wild pitch.
