Hackettstown, NJ – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Scholar All-American Awards, recognizing outstanding academic achievement by individual student-athletes across the nation.
For the men, a total of 473 student-athletes representing 105 institutions were recognized for their academic success in the classroom while competing throughout the season. Centenary University was represented by
Jack Thode (Sr./Business Administration),
Joey Innamorato (Jr./Education/Liberal Arts), and
Reece Smith (So./Business Administration). To be an scholar All-American one must maintain a 3.2 GPA or better, and have at least a 66% winning record, or place top 8 at the NCAA Regional.
On the women's side, a total of 540 student-athletes representing 92 institutions were recognized for their academic success in the classroom while competing throughout the season.
Kayla Melsky (Fr./Business Administration) and
Elizabeth Galladay (So./Biology) represented Centenary University. To be a scholar All-American, they have to have at least a 3.2 GPA and placed top 8 at Regionals, or have a 3.5 GPA or higher and wrestled in 10 matches or more.
