HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – After helping lead the Centenary University women's lacrosse team to its first win of the season on Saturday, sophomore defender
Sara Brotons was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Defensive Player of the Week.
Brotons tallied a team-best seven caused turnovers and six ground balls in a 1-1 week for the Cyclones.
She started her week with three caused turnovers and two ground balls in the season opener at Ramapo.
On Saturday, Brotons paced the defensive efforts with four caused turnovers and four ground balls in the 13-9 win over Eastern Mennonite. Brotons helped the Cyclones give up their fewest goals in a game since April 27, 2019 vs. Cedar Crest (also nine goals).
In addition, freshman attacker
Lily Butcher was named to the CSAC Honor Roll after scoring five goals in the win over Eastern Mennonite.
Brotons, Butcher and the rest of the Cyclones are back in action on Saturday, Apr. 2 when they host Wilson at 1 p.m.
