HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – After hitting .615 with eight RBIs, Centenary University freshman shortstop
Madison Passanante was named the Atlantic East Player of the Week.
Passanante added six runs scored, two doubles and five walks as she helped the Cyclones post their first three wins of the year. Passanante had at least one hit in all five games last week and drove in at least one run in four of those five contests. She also scored a run in four out of five contests.
She started her week by going 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in the team's 8-2 win over Penn State Abington.
Passanante turned in her biggest performance at the plate in 9-8 extra inning comeback win over Eureka. She went 3-for-3 at the plate with 4 RBIs, two runs scored and two doubles in that contest. Down to their final out and trailing by two in the bottom of the seventh, the Cyclones has Passanante at the plate. She delivered a two-run double that tied the game and sent it to extra innings.
She went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk in the loss to Salem.
Passanante went 1-for-3 with two runs scored in the win over Penn State Mont Alto.
She wrapped up her week by going 2-for-2 with two RBIs, one run scored and three walks in the tough one run loss to Cazenovia.
Passanante is hitting .360 with eight RBIs, six runs scored, six walks and two doubles this season.
Passanante and the Cyclones return to action on Thursday, Mar. 17 when they travel to Montclair State for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
