HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University women's basketball team begins its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoff run on Monday, Feb. 19.
After posting an 11-14 overall record and a 9-7 mark in CSAC play, the Cyclones have earned the number five seed. Head coach
Rose Haller and Centenary will travel to number four Marywood for a 7 p.m. game on Monday night.
The Cyclones will be making their third straight appearance and sixth overall. It is the first time the Cyclones will face Marywood in the CSAC playoffs.
The Cyclones are led by seniors
Nicole Cartaino,
Rachel Edwards and
Amber Reisenwitz.
Cartaino, who set the school record for career games played with her 104th appearance on Saturday, is averaging 13.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
Edwards exploded for 21 points at Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday and will enter Monday's game needing just one point to become the ninth player in program history to score at least 1,000 career points. She is contributing 12.4 points and a team-best 7.5 rebounds per game.
Reisenwitz is posting 9.1 points per game and has dished out 3.8 assists per game.
Marywood finished the regular season with a 14-11 mark and went 12-4 in CSAC play.
Erika Bistran is averaging 13.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while
Gab Giordano is contributing 12.7 points per game.
The winner of Monday's game will advance to the semifinals on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at either Cabrini or Gwynedd Mercy.
