Box Score 2 Baltimore, MD – The Centenary women's softball team swept Notre Dame of Maryland in this afternoon's Colonial States Athletic Conference game. With the pair of wins, the Cyclones are now 8-14 overall and 7-1 in the league, while the Gators fall to 2-14 and 1-11 in CSAC play.
Centenary 8, Notre Dame 0In game one, Centenary jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before a big fifth inning plated five runs to end the game early. Sophomore pitcher,
Kylie Morgan-Polefka threw five innings allowing just six hits and striking out three. Morgan also registered her third shutout of the week.
Freshmen,
Carolyn Clites and
Ashley Eisenstein collected a pair of hits, while five other Cyclones recorded at least one hit.
Centenary 10, Notre Dame 1In game two, Centenary needed just 10 hits to take the 10-1 run-rule win.
Sammie Darling,
Jessica Curtis and
Carolyn Clites each recorded a pair of hits.
Heather Passaro tallied two hits in game two but totaled four RBI's on the day, while
Samantha Belmonte also added three RBI's off of two hits.
Freshmen pitcher,
Sammie Darling gave up just one hit in the first inning for her fifth win of the season. Darling also struck out four batters in five innings.
Centenary will stay on the road as they head to Radnor, PA to face Cabrini College on April 14
th @ 3pm.
