Cyclones Close Season in Doubleheader Against William Paterson

Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary softball team wrapped up its 2026 campaign on Wednesday afternoon, dropping both ends of a doubleheader to William Paterson on Tannery Field.

In game one, the Cyclones fell 6–3 but showed resilience late. William Paterson used a six-run second inning to take control early, capitalizing on walks and timely hitting. Centenary was limited through the first six innings before breaking through in the seventh. Alyssa Tronolone reached to start the rally, and Anna Cunningham followed with a hit as the Cyclones plated three runs, highlighted by an RBI groundout from Kayla Melsky. Cunningham led the offense with three hits, while D'Ani Morales added a hit and went the distance in the circle.

In game two, the Cyclones were unable to generate offense in a 10–0 loss. William Paterson struck quickly with five runs in the first inning and added to the lead late, including a three-run home run in the sixth. Centenary collected five hits in the game, with Cunningham, Kaylin Kline, Ciellesse Cotto, Franchesca Lane, and Sierra Stultz each recording one.

Despite the setbacks, the Cyclones showed fight throughout the season, finishing the year with continued contributions across the lineup and valuable experience moving forward.
