Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Montclair, NJ – The Centenary softball team was swept by Montclair State University in this afternoon's non-conference game.  With the losses, the Cyclones fall to 1-11, while the Red Hawks improve to 6-7 overall.

In game one the Red Hawks opened the scoring in the bottom of the first for a 1-0 lead.  The Cyclones responded in the top of the second with two runs after Kylie Morgan-Polefka doubled to left sending home teammate, Carolyn Clites who also doubled to get on base.  Pinch runner, Alexis Wilson would also come around to score off a fielder's choice by Jamie Weingarten.

Montclair would regain the lead in the third frame scoring two runs for a 3-2 lead, but Centenary would tie the game in top of the fifth after Becca Raymond's RBI single sent Sam Belmonte home (3-3).

The Red Hawks would regain the lead in the bottom of the fifth plating one run and two more in the sixth to claim the victory.

Centenary's Heather Passaro had a productive game hitting 2-for-4 recording a double and a triple.  From the mound, Sammie Darling suffered the loss with two innings pitched while allowing two runs off of three hits and struck out two batters.

In game two, the Red Hawks controlled the game even though Centenary struck first in the top of the second.  Katie Lauria, who collected a pair of hits in this game, hit an RBI single through the right side to send home Ashley Eisenstein for the 1-0 lead. 

In the third frame, Montclair would tie the game at one apiece, but would tack on another six runs in the next two innings.  The Cyclones would remain scoreless as their bats were silenced by sophomore Rebecca Coleman who threw a complete game allowing one run off of five hits and a strikeout. 

Eisenstein, Clites and Erin Walsh each tallied a hit in the loss for the Cyclones.

The softball team will stay on the road as they travel to Kean University for a double header on April 2^nd @ 3pm.
