Box Score 2 Winter Haven, FL – The Centenary softball team dropped two on day three of the Rebel Spring Games as they fell to Ramapo College, 11-2 and Rowan College, 6-0.
Ramapo 11, Centenary 2After a scoreless first inning, the roadrunners opened the scoring in the top of the second and then tacked on four more in the third for a 5-0 advantage.
The Cyclones would get two back in the bottom of the third after two leadoff walks and a wild pitch put
Ashley Eisenstein and
Sammie Darling in scoring position on second and third.
Heather Passaro then stepped up to the plate and hit a single up the middle to pick up an RBI. Darling would score later that inning on a throwing error heading into the fourth with a 5-2 deficit.
Ramapo did not let up as they posted another four-run inning in the very frame to push ahead to a 9-2 advantage before scoring another two runs in the fifth. The roadrunners would keep the Cyclones scoreless ending the game in five.
Passaro went 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI, while
Becca Raymond and
Carolyn Clites eached tallied one hit.
Rowan 6, Centenary 0Rowan took control of the game early scoring two runs in the first and third frames and one run in the second and fourth amassing a 6-0 lead heading into the fifth. Prof Pitchers, Allison Nolan and Beth Ann Hyland allowed just two hits and combined for nine strikeouts on the day.
Centenary's
Samantha Belmonte and Heater Passaro registered the two hits for the Cyclones with singles to the left side.
Kylie Morgan-Polefka suffered the loss for the Cyclones allowing six hits with one strikeout.
Cyclones are back on the field tomorrow as they take on SUNY-Cortland @ 10am and Eastern Connecticut State @ 1215pm.
