Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary baseball team delivered a commanding performance on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 13–1 win in seven innings over Neumann in Hackettstown.
After a quiet opening inning, the Cyclones struck first in the second on a sacrifice fly from Nick Friscia to take a 1–0 lead. Centenary broke the game open in the third, plating five runs behind a combination of timely hitting and aggressive baserunning. Friscia delivered a two-RBI double in the frame, while Myles Castillo and Nick Santacross also drove in runs to extend the lead.
The offense kept rolling, adding two more runs in the fourth and erupting again in the sixth with a five-run inning to put the game out of reach. Friscia continued his big day with another extra-base hit, finishing with six RBIs, while Joseph Frei added two hits and an RBI. Santacross was perfect at the plate with three hits, scoring twice and swiping four bases as part of a relentless offensive attack. The Cyclones as a team, stole 11 bases, Santacross led the way with four, while Dominick Chiego had three.
On the mound, Louie Vassallo was dominant, earning the win with six strong innings. He allowed just one run on four hits while striking out five, keeping Neumann off balance throughout. Anthony Fraser closed out the seventh to secure the run-rule victory.
Centenary totaled 13 runs on 10 hits and drew 11 walks, showcasing patience and production throughout the lineup in one of its most complete wins of the season.
The Cyclones will wrap up the regular season this week with 5 games and look to punch their ticket to the postseason.
