Cyclones Sweep Marymount, Secure Series Victory

Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary baseball team delivered a strong all-around performance on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader against Marymount (Va.) to secure the series victory in Hackettstown.

In game one, the Cyclones battled back from an early deficit to earn a 9–6 win. After trailing 4–0, Centenary chipped away with two runs in the second and tied the game in the third behind a two-RBI single from Chris Clark. The Cyclones continued to apply pressure, taking the lead in the fourth and adding insurance late, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Simeon Reed in the sixth. Dominick Chiego led the offense with three hits and an RBI, while Reed and Clark each drove in two runs. Anthony Fraser earned the win in relief, and Adam Yarrison closed the door to secure his 9th career save, putting him 2nd all time in program history.

Game two saw Centenary's offense explode early in a 12–6 victory. The Cyclones erupted for seven runs in the first inning, with RBI hits from Chris Clark, Mike DeSena, and Myles Castillo setting the tone. Clark stayed hot at the plate, finishing with four hits and three RBIs, while Joseph Frei added three hits and two RBIs. DeSena and Blake Heitzman also contributed multi-hit efforts in the win. On the mound, Louie Vassallo delivered a strong outing, going 7.2 innings to earn the victory before Carter Sari closed out the final frames.

With the sweep, Centenary improves to 10–16 on the season and claims the series over Marymount, building momentum heading into the next stretch of conference play.
