The Centenary University softball team endured a tough day on the road, falling in both games of a doubleheader against Kean University.
In game one, the Cyclones struggled to contain Kean's offense, ultimately dropping a 19-1 decision. Despite the lopsided scoreline, Centenary managed to tally four hits on the day. The highlight came in the fourth inning when
Julia Sorrentino launched a solo home run, accounting for the Cyclones' lone run of the contest.
Game two saw a more competitive effort from Centenary, but the Cyclones came up short in a 10-2 loss. Offensively, the team showed improvement, collecting eight hits in the game.
Kayla Melsky paced the lineup with a strong performance, going 3-for-3 while driving in a run.
Holly Casaliggi contributed with two hits, while
Julia Sorrentino added an RBI to round out the scoring for Centenary.
The Cyclones will look to regroup and build on their offensive production as they prepare for their next matchup.
