Myrtle Beach, SC– Centenary picked up a strong 4-0 win over TCNJ on Tuesday evening in Myrtle Beach, highlighted by a dominant outing on the mound from
Milan Raparelli, who earned his first career victory.
Raparelli set the tone early and never wavered, tossing seven scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out five. He worked around four walks and a pair of hit batters, consistently making big pitches to keep TCNJ off the scoreboard. Liam Hester and Louie Vassallo combined to close out the final two innings and secure the shutout.
The Cyclones struck first in the opening inning, taking advantage of defensive miscues to grab a 1-0 lead. Centenary broke the game open in the sixth, capitalizing again on errors while Andrew Briggs and Blake Heitzman delivered key RBIs in a three-run frame to extend the lead to 4-0. Joseph Frei sparked the offense with two runs scored and an early stolen base, while Heitzman led the team with two RBIs. Centenary's pitching staff and defense held firm late, stranding multiple runners in the ninth to seal the win.
The Cyclones return home from their spring break trip and open up conference this weekend with a 3 game slate against Saint Elizabeth. First pitch is set for 3PM on Friday in Morristown.
