Scranton, Pa.: The Centenary University men's basketball team delivered a strong road performance Saturday afternoon, cruising to an 87–68 Atlantic East Conference victory over Marywood University at Insalaco Arena. The Cyclones built a first-half lead and never looked back, outscoring the Pacers in both halves en route to a convincing win.
Centenary got off to a hot start, taking a 39–37 advantage into halftime behind efficient scoring and smart ball movement. The Cyclones continued their offensive rhythm in the second half, shooting 51.6% over the final 20 minutes and expanding their lead as Marywood struggled to cut into the margin. Centenary shot 52.4% for the game and connected on 37.5% of its three-point attempts while controlling the glass and generating points off turnovers.
Junior Kenneth Rankin turned in a standout performance, leading all scorers with 41 points on highly efficient shooting, including multiple deep balls and clutch baskets down the stretch. Rankin's performance puts him tied for 1st in school history with Most Field Goals made in a singular game. He also sits tied for 4th with most points in a game. Jasir Lane contributed a double-figure night with 11 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring Centenary's efforts on the boards. Justin Carbone added 10 points, and Naire Preston contributed 9, while Devin Strickland and Darnelle Forrest provided additional scoring to keep the Cyclones ahead throughout the contest.
Centenary's defense forced turnovers and limited second-chance opportunities for Marywood, helping maintain separation late and secure the conference road win. With the victory, the Cyclones improve their standing in Atlantic East play as they continue their 2025-26 campaign.
