Morristown, N.J.: The Centenary University men's basketball team mounted a strong second-half surge to earn a 90–85 Atlantic East Conference victory over Saint Elizabeth University on Wednesday night at Saint Joseph Gym. After a competitive first half, the Cyclones used balanced scoring and timely plays to pull away and secure the conference win.
Centenary trailed early as both teams traded baskets in a tight first half, but the Cyclones' offense came alive after intermission. Centenary shot efficiently in the second half and used aggressive drives to the basket and solid free-throw shooting to build separation when it counted most. The Cyclones outscored Saint Elizabeth in the second half and held off late Eagles runs to maintain their advantage down the stretch.
Senior Devin Strickland led the Cyclones with 25 points on 12-of-21 shooting, pacing Centenary's offense throughout the contest. Jasir Lane contributed a strong all-around performance with 19 points and 20 rebounds, giving Centenary a dominant presence on the boards. Naire Preston added 15 points, including four three-pointers, and Kenneth Rankin scored 15 points while anchoring the defense. Justine Carbone chipped in 10 points, and the Cyclones benefited from balanced contributions across the lineup.
Defensively, Centenary stepped up in key moments to force turnovers and disrupt Saint Elizabeth's rhythm. The Cyclones improved to 6–12 overall and 4–3 in Atlantic East play with the hard-fought road victory as they continue their conference schedule.
