The Centenary University softball team opened their Saturday doubleheader with a tough 12-0 loss in five innings to Marymount University. Despite a strong effort, the Cyclones struggled to generate offense against a potent Saints lineup.
Centenary tallied three hits in the contest, with Sierra Stulz, Jaelynn Miller, and Sierra Kaye each recording a single. While the bats were mostly quiet, the Cyclones continued to show fight at the plate throughout the shortened game.
In the circle, D'Ani Morales got the start and faced a relentless Marymount offense, while Sierra Stulz came on in relief and provided a solid outing. Stulz pitched one inning, allowing just two hits and no earned runs, helping to steady things late in the game.
The Cyclones will look to bounce back and make adjustments in game two as they continue to grow and battle this season.Â
