After a hard-fought game one in their doubleheader against Marywood, the Centenary University softball team struggled to find footing in the second matchup, falling 13-0 in a five-inning contest on Saturday afternoon.
The Cyclones managed four hits in the loss, with Jessica Burlew continuing her solid day at the plate by collecting two of them. Madison Passanante and Sierra Kaye each added a hit of their own, but the offense couldn't find the timely spark needed to string together a rally.
Jaelynn Miller got the start in the circle for Centenary, pitching the opening inning before handing the ball off to Sierra Stultz, who finished the final three frames. Both pitchers recorded a strikeout, but Marywood's bats proved difficult to contain, piling on runs early and maintaining control throughout.
Despite the tough outing, the Cyclones remain focused on the bigger picture as they continue their Atlantic East Conference campaign. With young talent gaining experience and key players stepping up, Centenary looks to regroup and bounce back in their next outing.
