Centenary Softball sent their seniors out in style on Tuesday, erupting for 19 hits in a thrilling 16-13 victory over Baruch College to sweep their Senior Day doubleheader. In a game that featured plenty of offense and momentum swings, the Cyclones' bats proved unstoppable as they powered their way to the win.
Madison Passanante and Jessica Burlew led the offensive onslaught with four hits apiece, igniting rallies throughout the game. Carolyn Rosenberg continued her scorching hot stretch at the plate, going 3-for-5Â with 3 RBI to fuel the middle of the order. Jayden Pennella added fireworks of her own, notching a triple, a double, and a team-high five RBI in a clutch performance.
Sierra Kaye chipped in with two hits in her final home game, helping the Cyclones stay one step ahead of a persistent Baruch offense that refused to go quietly.
The victory came on an emotional afternoon as Centenary honored six senior players: Jenna Garofalo, Sierra Kaye, Madison Passanante, Carolyn Rosenberg, Jaelynn Miller, and Samantha Morris. Each senior was celebrated for their contributions both on and off the field, helping shape the foundation of Cyclone softball.
Centenary's offensive firepower proved too much for the Bearcats to match, as the Cyclones broke open a back-and-forth contest late and held on to secure the win and the doubleheader sweep.
With the win, Centenary caps off Senior Day with a high note and keeps their momentum building as the regular season winds down.
