The Centenary Cyclones Women's Lacrosse team is on fire to start the season, notching their third consecutive victory with a 12-7 triumph over Cedar Crest College. The win keeps the Cyclones undefeated as they continue to roll through the early part of the 2025 season.
Leading the way for Centenary was Dyani Alonso, who put on an offensive clinic, scoring four goals to pace the Cyclones' attack. Alonso's performance was pivotal in ensuring her team's success against a tough Cedar Crest squad.
Right behind Alonso was Nora Dornich, who added a hat trick of her own, scoring three goals in the contest. Dornich's strong offensive showing continued to add pressure to the Cedar Crest defense, helping extend the Cyclones' lead throughout the game.
Trista Hough also had a significant impact, finding the back of the net twice to contribute to the Cyclones' high-scoring effort. Chloe Neubauer, Antonia Tucci, and Lauren Helder each added one goal, rounding out a well-balanced offensive attack that overwhelmed Cedar Crest's defense.
While the Cyclones were firing on all cylinders offensively, it was the defense, anchored by goalie Autumn Thame-Knox, that ensured their victory. Thame-Knox was a brick wall in the net, making nine crucial saves to keep Cedar Crest from closing the gap. Her leadership on defense played a major role in stifling Cedar Crest's offensive attempts and securing the win for the Cyclones.
The game was closely contested in the early going, but the Cyclones' potent offense and solid defensive play proved too much for Cedar Crest to overcome. With each passing game, Centenary's confidence grows, and their dominance in all areas of the field continues to shine.
As they move to 3-0 on the season, the Cyclones will look to maintain their momentum as they prepare for their next matchup. With players like Alonso, Dornich, and Thame-Knox leading the charge, Centenary appears poised for continued success in 2025.
The Cyclones will be back in action soon, aiming to extend their undefeated start and continue to show why they're a force to be reckoned with in women's lacrosse.
