The Centenary Cyclones Women's Lacrosse team continued their perfect start to the season with a dominant 21-0 victory over Old Westbury, improving their record to a flawless 4-0. The Cyclones displayed a well-balanced, high-powered offense, alongside a lockdown defense that kept Old Westbury off the scoreboard for the entire game.
It was an all-around team effort for Centenary, with 10 different players contributing to the scoreline. Trista Hough led the way with a stellar five-goal performance, while Dyani Alonso, Lauren Helder, and Nora Dornich each tallied four goals apiece. The offensive attack was relentless, and even more players got in on the action, as Chloe Neubauer, Pauline Mrad, Antonia Tucci, and Daisy Manjarrez each found the back of the net for solo goals.
In addition to their scoring prowess, the Cyclones also shared the ball efficiently. Saoirse Twomey and Kaylie Elsbree each registered two assists, helping to spread the wealth across the offense and keep the attack flowing smoothly throughout the game.
On the defensive side, goalkeeper Autumn Thame-Knox was simply stellar. The freshman netminder earned a shutout with six key saves, maintaining her strong form in goal and extending her personal record to 4-0 on the season. Her performance not only helped preserve the shutout but also allowed the Cyclones to assert control from the first whistle to the last.
Centenary's balanced approach on both ends of the field was evident in the rout. With offense coming from a variety of sources and the defense not allowing Old Westbury to break through, it was a complete team performance that demonstrated why the Cyclones are one of the top teams early in the season.
With this victory, Centenary Women's Lacrosse remains perfect at 4-0, setting the stage for a promising season ahead. As the Cyclones continue to grow and build chemistry, they'll look to carry this momentum into their next matchup and keep their undefeated streak alive.
