Hackettstown, N.J.: The Centenary University Women's Basketball team dominated from start to finish on Tuesday night, rolling to a 96–31 victory over Penn State Schuylkill inside the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center.
The Cyclones exploded offensively, racing out to a 54–12 halftime lead behind relentless defensive pressure and efficient shooting. Centenary shot 45.8% from the floor, scored 56 points in the paint, and used its depth to overwhelm the Nittany Lions, racking up 52 bench points, 48 points off turnovers, and 36 fast-break points.Vatijah Davis led the Cyclones with 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Ashanti Dewalt added 13 points, going 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Alexa Osafo-Mensah scored eight points and pulled down four rebounds, and the Cyclones had 12 different players record at least one field goal. Defensively, Centenary held Penn State Schuylkill to just 21.2% shooting, including 0-for-7 from beyond the arc, while forcing numerous turnovers and limiting second-chance opportunities.
The win pushes Centenary to 5–3 on the season as the Cyclones continue to build momentum heading into conference play.
