HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Centenary University women's basketball dropped a tough battle against 6-1 Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday night. The Diplomats past the Cyclones, 78–67, inside the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center.
Despite the loss, junior forward Vatijah Davis once again powered the Cyclones, posting a team-high 21 points and a game-leading 13 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the young season. Davis' activity on the glass was key in keeping Centenary within reach, as the Cyclones out-rebounded the Diplomats 43–30 overall.
Centenary also received strong contributions from freshman guard Makayla Williams, who scored nine points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting night, while senior Alexa Osafo-Mensah added nine points and four rebounds, including a 7-for-10 performance at the free-throw line.
Off the bench, Iysis Nickens provided a spark with six points and two rebounds, while Alexandra Koon added five points in limited minutes. The Cyclones reserves outscored Franklin & Marshall's bench 21–19, a promising sign for depth moving forward.
The Cyclones showed toughness and energy in a challenging matchup against a strong Franklin & Marshall squad. The Cyclones battled on the glass, pushed the pace in transition, and fought through every possession. Despite the final score, their intensity and resilience highlighted a competitive effort against a highly talented opponent.
The Cyclones drop to 4–2 on the season and will look to regroup as non-conference play continues.
