Softball Sweeps Day One Of AEC Tournament

Hackettstown, NJ: The Lady Clones headed into the Atlantic East Conference tournament as the number one seed. They lived up to that seed, as they swept Day One going 2-0. They beat Cabrini 1-0 and Gwynedd Mercy 4-2. 


Game One vs Cabrini

Getting the start in the circle would be Ace pitcher Jaelynn Miller. Miller would pick up her twentieth win of the season as she lead the Clones to a 1-0 start on the day. Despite giving up two hits, she would strikeout seven batters. The Clones bats were quiet but they were able to capitalize on their only hit of the day with an RBI single off the bat of Rhiannon Ginnetti. In the field, the Cyclones defense would be perfect as they commit no errors. 


Game Two vs Gwynedd Mercy

After a fifty-seven minute first game, the Clones would face the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy in a must win game for the Griffins. Getting the start would once again be Jaelynn Miller. Miller would toss seven innings, giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out seven. She now sits second in the country with twenty-one wins on the season. The Clones bats would wake up in game two as they scored four runs on ten hits. All four runs were batted in. The defense would once again be perfect giving up no errors.

The Clones will face the Cabrini Cavaliers tomorrow, as they look to continue their season and clinch their spot in the AEC Championship Series next weekend.
