Softball Splits To Open Their Season

Myrtle Beach, SC: The Cyclones split the first double-header of their 2024 Season. The Clones won game one by a final score of 3-2, and dropped game two 6-5.

Game One

The Cyclones opened up their season with an exciting win in extra innings. The Cyclones offense produced three runs on eleven base hits, while drawing two walks, and leaving no runners on base. Of the team's three runs, two were batted in. Defensively, the Clones recorded twenty-four putouts, and committed two errors. Getting the start for the Cyclones was Senior Julia Campen who went on to throw four innings, allowing just one earned run. Picking up the win was Junior transfer Jaelynn Miller, who also tossed four innings for the Cyclones allowing just two hits, and recording five strikeouts.
Game 2 

In the second game, the Cyclones offense would score a total of five runs as they jumped out to an early lead over the Nittany Lions. Offensively, the Clones recorded nine hits, five runs batted in, and drew four walks. In the second game, three different Cyclones recorded multiple. The Cyclones defense recorded eighteen putouts, and committed two errors. Starting in the circle was Jaelynn Miller, who tossed four innings, allowing five hits, and four runs. Julia Campen would come in to throw the final two innings and would receive the loss for the game. Up Next

The Cyclones will compete tomorrow against Penn College and Norwich University at 11 AM and 3 PM.
