HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Ready to return to the field for the first time since 2019, the Centenary University field hockey team moved one step closer as the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) released its Preseason Poll voted on by the league's head coaches.

The Cyclones received 43 points and were slotted fourth in the poll.

Keystone topped the poll with 60 points while Wilson was a close second with 58 points. Rounding out the top three was Cedar Crest, who picked up 45 points.

Head coach Stephen Speirs and the Cyclones earned six wins in 2019, their first season. Speirs returns five players from that 2019 squad including Michaela Thiessen, who had four goals and five assists and Keirra Doyle, who contributed a goal and three assists. Emma Cahill and Jenyfer Pereira each return after gaining valuable experience in goal.

Speirs also welcomes in a handful of newcomers.

The Cyclones open their 2021 campaign when they host Drew on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 4:30 p.m.
