HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University women's basketball team begins its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoff run on Monday, Feb. 24.
As the tournament's fifth seed, the Cyclones will travel to No. 4 Clarks Summit University for a 7 p.m. start.
The Cyclones will make making their fifth straight appearance in the CSAC Tournament and eighth overall. Centenary will be looking for its first ever CSAC win.
Centenary has 14 wins this season, its most victories since the 2016-17 squad won 20 games.
Sophomore
Taylor Bossert has paced the Cyclones on the season while averaging 13.5 points per game and dishing out 50 assists. Fellow sophomore
Victoria Jacobs has contributed 11.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Freshman
Carmen Escano has been a strong presence on the boards for the Cyclones as she is averaging 8.5 rebounds per game while adding 9.1 points per game.
Clarks Summit brings an 18-7 record into the CSAC Tournament. The Defenders are led by
Elizabeth Singleton, who is averaging 19.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
Michaela McLeod is adding 8.1 rebounds per game for Clarks Summit.
Clarks Summit won both meetings between the two schools during the regular season. The Defenders earned a 67-46 victory when the two teams met at Clarks Summit earlier this year. Jacobs led Centenary with 15 points in that contest while
Alison Aten had 16 points for the Defenders. When the two teams met in Hackettstown, Singleton scored 21 points to lead Clarks Summit to the 61-49 victory. Jacobs again scored 15 points to lead the Cyclones.
The winner of Monday night's contest will travel to No. 1 Keystone for the semifinals on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
