HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Freshman Ryan Anderson won the 149-pound weight bracket to highlight the action at the 10th Annual Bob Quade Cyclone Open on Sunday.

For Anderson it was his second tournament win of the season. In addition, juniors Dylan Luciano (125-pounds) and Kenny Long (184-pounds) each finished third in their respective weight classes.

The tournament which featured over 150 wrestlers, is named for Professor Bob Quade who founded the Centenary wrestling program.

Anderson, who was ranked No. 8/9 in this week's national rankings, improved to 16-3 on the year with his four wins on the day.

The freshman started his day by recording a fall in 2:52 versus Atlee Cullision of Rowan College South Jersey. Anderson then needed just 1:26 to record the fall over Devin Woodworth from U.S. Naval Academy Prep. He advanced to the championship bout after recording a fall in 1:16 versus Mitch Camp of Kutztown. Anderson completed his perfect day with a 6-2 decision over Tanner Craig of U.S. Military Academy West Point.

Luciano had a strong performance as he picked up wins in five of his six bouts on the day. The junior needed just 12 seconds to record a fall versus Jonathan Chen of Stony Brook.

After falling in his next bout, Luciano bounced back to post four straight wins en route to a third-place finish. He picked up his second win of the day by fall over Dave Lulucci of Rowan College South Jersey (:56) and followed that up with a fall versus Michael Garcia from Scranton (1:46). Luciano then posted a 17-4 major decision in his bout against Shawn Moore of Davis and Elkins. In the third-place bout, Luciano recorded a 9-2 decision over Connor Yourkavich of Kutztown.

Long recorded four wins in five bouts and earned a third-place finish in his weight class. The junior started his day with a fall against Ryan Bihasa-Lenahan of Scranton (1:41). He followed that up with a 12-10 sudden victory decision over Joseph Wilson of Davis and Elkins.

After being tripped up in the semifinals, Long bounced back with a win by medical forfeit over James Potts of Kutztown. Long then earned his third-place finish with a 6-4 decision versus Ethan Stern of U.S. Naval Academy Prep.

Several other Cyclones had strong showings on the day.

Sophomore Jacy Jones had four wins at 133-pounds. Jones had a pair of wins by fall, added one by tech fall and one by major decision.

Sophomore Cameron Bruffy finished with three wins at 141-pounds. He recorded one win by major decision and a pair by decision.

The Cyclones are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 11 when they travel to the Shorty Hitchcock Tournament hosted by Millersville.
