SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Five top five finishes led the Centenary University wrestling team to a seventh-place finish in a talented field at the Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College.

For the second straight year, a Cyclone wrestler won his weight class at this tournament (Etiini Udott-197-pounds last year). Freshman Ryan Anderson went 5-0 to capture the 149-pound weight bracket. Three of Anderson's five wins on the day came by fall. His first two wins of the day both came by falls that took less than a minute. He recorded a win over Mike Vietri of Springfield by major decision and battled for a 7-4 decision versus Evan Fidelibus of New England in the championship bout.

Junior Kenny Long grabbed a third-place finish at 184-pounds on the day. He started his day with a major decision victory over Isaiah Collins of American International. Long then earned a 7-3 decision over Nathan Werthmeier of Johns Hopkins. Long then fell in a pair of close decisions.

Junior Dylan Luciano secured a third-place finish at 125-pounds for the Cyclones. He earned a fall in 5:22 versus John Tesoriero of Western New England. Luciano followed that up with a major decision against Parker Brunkala of Coast Guard. Luciano was tripped up by Diego Santiago of New England but bounced back for a 7-6 decision versus Amir Daouk of Wesleyan.

Sophomore Cameron Bruffy continued his strong wrestling of late with a third-place finish at 141-pounds. Bruffy started his day with a major decision over Caden Mareno of Coast Guard. After falling a pair of hard-fought bouts, Bruffy bounced back with a 12-5 decision versus J.D. Fitzpatrick of the Coast Guard.

Senior Michael Foca battled for a fifth-place finish for the Cyclones at 149-pounds. Foca, who posted six wins on the day, saw his action highlighted by a major decision over Ja'mon Van heyningan of Rhode Island College. He also had three wins by decision on the day.

Centenary is off until Friday, Dec. 6 when they welcome NYU to Reeves Gym for a 7 p.m. match.
