Bryn Mawr, PA: Centenary women's lacrosse opened its 2026 campaign on Wednesday afternoon with a competitive 12–9 road loss at Bryn Mawr at Applebee Field.
The Cyclones struck first when Nora Dornich found the back of the net midway through the opening quarter, but Bryn Mawr answered with a quick run to take a 4–3 lead after one. Centenary kept pace in the second period, using a strong push that included back-to-back goals from Trista Hough and a man-up finish by Lauren Helder to knot the game at 6–6. The Owls, however, scored in the final seconds of the half to carry a 7–6 advantage into the break.
Bryn Mawr created separation in the third quarter, outscoring the Cyclones 4–1 during the frame to build an 11–7 cushion. Centenary continued to battle in the fourth, getting a man-up goal from Matalina Kratzel and a late tally from Dornich, but the deficit proved too much to overcome.
Dornich, Kratzel, and Helder each recorded two goals and one assist to lead the Centenary offense, while Hough added two goals of her own. Olivia Evans contributed a goal and two assists in the season opener. In goal, Autumn Thame-Knox made 11 saves and collected five ground balls to pace the defensive effort.
Centenary finished with 22 ground balls and nine draw controls, while Bryn Mawr held advantages in draws (14–9) and shots (25–17).
The Cyclones will look to bounce back in their next contest as they continue the early portion of the 2026 schedule.
