Camden, NJ: The Centenary University baseball team dropped a non-conference contest to Rutgers–Camden on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 14–6.
Rutgers–Camden generated early offense and built momentum through the middle innings to create separation on the scoreboard. The Scarlet Raptors capitalized on key scoring opportunities, stringing together timely hits to take control of the game.
Centenary continued to battle offensively, with several Cyclones reaching base throughout the contest. Joseph Frei helped spark the lineup, while Dominick Chiego and Nick Friscia also contributed offensively as Centenary attempted to rally late. The Cyclones pitching staff worked through multiple challenging innings, with the bullpen providing key outs to limit further damage and keep the game within reach. Defensively, Centenary turned routine plays across the infield and outfield while working to slow Rutgers–Camden's offensive push.
Despite the loss, the Cyclones showed resilience at the plate and continued to build experience early in the season as they move forward in their non-conference schedule. The Cyclones return to action tomorrow against Montclair State.
