Williams Hits Last Second Three To Beat Pratt

Brooklyn, N.Y. — The Centenary University women's basketball team pulled out a dramatic 49–46 victory over Pratt Institute on Wednesday night, capped by a game-winning basket from Makayla Williams with 1.8 seconds remaining in the contest.

The game was tightly contested throughout, with neither team able to build a significant lead as defense dominated on both ends of the floor. Centenary relied on its toughness in the paint and disciplined defensive effort to keep the score close heading into the final moments.

Vatijah Davis led the Cyclones with a standout all-around performance, recording 16 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double, while also adding six assists and two blocks. Sofia Mendez contributed 13 points to provide consistent offense, and Williams finished with six points, including the decisive basket that sealed the win.

With the score tied late in the fourth quarter, Centenary worked the ball inside during its final possession, and Williams delivered under pressure, converting the game-winner with just 1.8 seconds left on the clock. The Cyclones then made a final defensive stop to secure the victory.

Centenary's defense limited Pratt to 46 points in the low-scoring battle, while the Cyclones controlled the glass with 49 rebounds. The win highlights Centenary's resilience and ability to execute in clutch situations as the season continues.
