CHESTER, Pa. – The Centenary University women's basketball team opened its 2026-27 season Friday evening, falling to Salisbury University, 98-37, in the opening round of the TFD Consulting Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Widener University.
The Cyclones struck first on a jumper from Alexandra Koon, but Salisbury quickly responded, building a 27-5 advantage after the opening quarter. The Sea Gulls continued their offensive momentum in the second quarter, taking a 51-16 lead into halftime.
Centenary continued to battle throughout the second half, adding 11 points in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth, but Salisbury maintained control to secure the victory.
Alexandra Koon led the Cyclones with 18 points and seven rebounds, shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Ashley Ventura contributed six points, four rebounds and three assists, while Kezia Feaster added five points and two steals. Olivia Minnich collected seven rebounds and three steals.
Centenary finished with 35 rebounds and 10 steals in the contest.
The Cyclones (0-1) will return to action Saturday, November 7, against Marywood University in the consolation game of the TFD Consulting Tip-Off Tournament.
