Hackettstown, N.J: The Centenary University women's basketball team earned a 71–61 Atlantic East Conference victory over Pratt Institute on Wednesday night inside the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center. The Cyclones used a balanced scoring effort and strong second-half execution to pull away and secure the conference win.
The game opened with back-and-forth action, but Centenary began to gain momentum in the second quarter, taking control on both ends of the floor to build a halftime lead. The Cyclones continued to apply pressure after the break, maintaining their advantage through the third quarter and responding to a late push from Pratt with timely baskets and defensive stops down the stretch.
Alexandra Koon led the Cyclones with 16 points, while Makayla Williams added 13 points on efficient shooting. Iysis Nickens contributed 10 points off the bench, and Jasmine Sampong chipped in 9. Vatijah Davis recorded a strong all-around performance with 8 points and 10 rebounds, helping Centenary control the glass throughout the contest.
With the win, the Cyclones improve to 8–6 overall and 1–2 in Atlantic East play as Centenary continues conference competition.
