Centenary University Baseball bounced back in dominant fashion on Friday, defeating #2 seed Neumann University 15-4 in Game 2 of their final Atlantic East Conference regular season series to even up the series at a game.
The Cyclones' offense exploded behind a trio of home runs, as Dominick Chiego, Nick Payne, and Dominick Zinna each went deep to fuel the rout. Zinna had a standout performance at the plate, going 3-for-6Â with 5 RBIs, while Payne added 2 hits and 3 RBIs of his own in the offensive outburst.
On the mound, Colin Ferschman turned in a solid start, pitching 5 innings and allowing 3 runs while striking out 2 to earn the win. Louie Vassallo came in for an inning of relief and was electric, striking out the side to shut the door on any Neumann comeback hopes.
With the series now tied 1-1, the Cyclones will look to carry their momentum into the winner-take-all Game 3 as they prep to chase the Atlantic East Conference title.
