HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University baseball team closed out its regular season on Saturday with a narrow 9-8 loss to Neumann University in Game 3 of their conference series. Despite the setback, the Cyclones showcased plenty of offensive firepower and honored 10 seniors during a special Senior Day ceremony at Diamond of Dreams Field.
Centenary racked up 10 hits in the game, led by a standout performance from Myles Castillo, who went 3-for-5 at the plate. Castillo delivered the biggest blow of the day with a towering home run to right field that energized the Cyclone dugout.
Joseph Frei continued his hot streak, finishing a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBIs, while Nick Payne chipped in with a solid 2-for-5 effort and an RBI of his own.
Though the Cyclones rallied late, Neumann held on to take the one-run victory and clinch the series. With the loss, Centenary concludes its regular season campaign but turns its attention to the upcoming Atlantic East Conference playoffs.
The Cyclones will get a rematch with Neumann this Wednesday, this time on the road, as they begin their postseason journey.
