The Centenary University women's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2025 campaign with a hard-fought 16-7 loss to Immaculata University on Wednesday afternoon, bringing their season to a close with a promising 6-8 record that signals a program on the rise.
Despite the scoreboard, the Cyclones showed their trademark heart and hustle, led by Junior attacker Nora Dornich, who capped her season in style with four goals. Dornich continued her role as a spark plug for the offense, relentlessly attacking the net and keeping Centenary competitive throughout the contest.
Lauren Helder contributed two goals in her final game of the 2025 season, while freshman Dyani Alonso added a solo tally to round out the scoring for the Cyclones. The offensive trio showed flashes of Centenary's growing depth and skill, even against a tough Immaculata defense.
In the cage, it was once again the Autumn Thame-Knox show. The freshman phenom turned away 19 shots, continuing her dominant season between the pipes. Thame-Knox's poise and athleticism kept Centenary within reach and gave fans plenty to be excited about for the future.
The loss may sting in the moment, but the Cyclones leave 2025 with their heads high. The 6-8 finish marks a significant improvement from last year's record, and with a roster brimming with young talent and valuable game experience, the foundation for future success is clearly in place.
As the Cyclones head into the offseason, the message is clear: Centenary women's lacrosse is building something special — and they're just getting warmed up.
