The Centenary University men's lacrosse team closed out their conference schedule with a tough 23–2 loss to Immaculata University on Tuesday afternoon. Despite the lopsided scoreline, the Cyclones showed flashes of determination and grit as they battled through their final Atlantic East game of the season.
Centenary's two goals came from Brian Rosky and Marty Zoet, with the latter's tally assisted by Sean Quinones. Zoet's goal came late in the third quarter, breaking up a long scoring drought for the Cyclones a moment to rally behind.
In the net, Travis Austin and Bohdan Olefirenko split time and faced relentless pressure from Immaculata's offense. The duo combined for 15 saves, doing their best to hold off a high-powered Mighty Macs attack that clicked from the opening whistle.
Immaculata showcased their offensive depth and efficiency, building an early lead and never looking back. Their ball movement and finishing ability overwhelmed the Centenary defense throughout the contest.
While the result wasn't what the Cyclones hoped for, the effort from veterans like Rosky and up-and-comers like Zoet and Quinones offered a silver lining as the team looks ahead to regroup in the offseason. For a squad in the midst of a rebuilding phase, every game presents an opportunity to grow—and lessons from this finale could prove valuable for next year's campaign.
