The Centenary University men's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2025 campaign on Friday afternoon, falling 14-5 to Cairn University in their final game of the season. While the scoreboard didn't favor the Cyclones, the afternoon was a showcase of heart, effort, and resilience — qualities that defined their season from start to finish.
Senior attackman Nick Wickkiser and junior midfielder Brian Rosko led the offensive charge for Centenary, each netting two goals against the Highlanders. Wickkiser, playing in his final collegiate game, brought intensity and leadership to the field, while Rosko continued to prove he'll be a key piece moving forward.
Marty Zoet added the Cyclones' fifth goal, rounding out the scoring in a contest where Centenary fought until the final whistle.
In goal, senior Travis Austin stood tall one last time, recording 12 saves in a gutsy performance that reflected his stellar career in net. Austin's composure and consistency have been a cornerstone for the Cyclones over the years, and his presence will surely be missed both on and off the field.
Despite finishing the season with a record of 0-12-1, the Cyclones' year was far from a disappointment. Through injuries, tough matchups, and close battles, Centenary showed grit, growth, and a never-quit attitude. From career-best performances to strong leadership from the senior class, the team laid the groundwork for future success.
As the Cyclones turn the page, they do so with pride in what was built this season — not in the win column, but in character, camaraderie, and commitment.
