In a game that was more about legacy than the scoreboard, the Centenary University men's lacrosse team honored six seniors on Saturday in their final home contest of the season, despite falling 27–7 to a high-powered Neumann University.
The Cyclones paid tribute to senior leaders Mark Gilles, Austin Domenic, Matt Paspalas, Hayden McMullen, Nick Wickkiser, and goaltender Travis Austin in a heartfelt Senior Day ceremony prior to faceoff. Though the game didn't go their way, the moment was a celebration of years of dedication, grit, and leadership.
On the field, Brian Rosko led the charge for Centenary with a hat trick, notching three goals to continue his standout junior campaign. Senior Nick Wickkiser also made his presence felt, scoring two goals and providing a spark of energy and toughness in transition.
In one of the afternoon's most special moments, senior Austin Domenic tallied his first career goal, bringing the Cyclones' sideline – and the home crowd – to life. Sean Quinones added the seventh and final tally for Centenary.
Between the pipes, senior netminder Travis Austin stood tall against relentless offensive pressure, racking up 14 saves over three quarters in one of his final performances in Cyclone blue.
Though the scoreboard read 27–7 at the final horn, Saturday's game was about far more than the numbers. It was about honoring a group of players who poured everything into the program, helping to build a culture of resilience and pride.
As the Cyclones look ahead to their final games of the season, the spirit of these six seniors will continue to resonate on the field and in the locker room – a legacy etched deeper than any final score.
