Centenary University Men's Lacrosse faced a tough home test this Saturday, falling 25-2 to Marymount University in a conference matchup that saw the visitor Saints fire on all cylinders from the opening whistle.
Despite the lopsided scoreline, the Cyclones found bright spots in the performance of attackers Sean Quinones and Brian Rosko, who each tallied a goal on the day. Rosko continued to contribute beyond the scoreboard, collecting four ground balls and remaining active all over the field in an otherwise challenging afternoon for Centenary.
In net, the Cyclones split duties between Bohdan Olefirenko and Travis Austin. Both goaltenders stood tall in the face of relentless offensive pressure from Marymount, each recording 7 saves to help keep the game within reach in stretches. The Saints, however, proved too much to contain, utilizing speed, ball movement, and depth to generate high-percentage chances throughout the contest.
The Cyclones continue to seek growth in a competitive conference slate and will look to regroup as they prepare for their next outing.
Centenary will return home next week to take on Neumann University, aiming to bounce back and build on the flashes of grit and execution shown Saturday.
