In an exhilarating women's basketball showdown, the Cyclones team narrowly edged out the Griffins, securing a 78-74 victory in a game that had fans on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer. The game was a back-and-forth contest, full of intense moments, with the visitors mounting a strong late-game comeback that made the outcome far from certain.
The Lady Clones started off strong, taking control early in the first quarter with an aggressive offensive strategy. Their seniors studded lineup, quickly established themselves early, building a 16 point lead going into the half.Â
The Griffins dominated the 3rd quarter, winning the quarter by a margin of 17-9, however, the Lady Clones were too much for the Griffins and held on the lead to secure the final victory of the 24-25 regular season for the Clones.Â
In a night which honored 5 seniors, the Cyclones were led by Vatijah Davis totaling 19 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a steal. Additionally, senior guards Brie Opdyke and Kaylie Elsbree tallied 15 and 14 points respectively.Â
The win closes out a successful regular season for Coach Haller and their program as they finished the season with 15 wins and look to continue their great season in the Atlantic East playoffs!
