BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Centenary University women's basketball team opened the 2025–26 season with a 60–57 victory over Bryn Mawr College on Saturday afternoon on the road. 

After tied 22–22 at halftime, the Cyclones surged in the second half, outscoring the Owls 38–35 to secure the three-point win. Centenary shot 37.7% from the field (23-for-61) while holding Bryn Mawr to 32.4% shooting and forcing 13 turnovers.

The Cyclones' offense was powered by Vatijah Davis, who led all scorers with 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting, including a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. Davis also led the team in rebounds with 8. Senior Jasmine Sampong followed with 12 points, 3 steals, and 3 assists, while transfer Madison Reeves added 10 points and 5 rebounds. Centenary also got key contributions from freshman Makayla Williams with 7 points and 2 assists.

Centenary dominated the paint with 30 points inside and 15 offensive rebounds that led to 11 second-chance points. The bench provided a spark, combining for 25 points to maintain momentum throughout the contest.

With this win, the Cyclones move to 1–0 on the season and look to carry this momentum into their first home game of the season on Tuesday when they take on Wilkes University.
