Centenary Women's Basketball Dominates Wilkes, Improves to 2–0
Hackettstown, N.J. November 11, 2025 Centenary University (NJ) continued its strong start to the season with a commanding 77–47 victory over visiting Wilkes University at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center. The Cyclones move to 2–0 on the year, while Wilkes falls to 1–1.
Davis Dominates With 35 Points
Centenary junior forward Vatijah Davis dominates Wilkes with an all-around performance, leading all scorers with 35 points on 13-for-17 shooting, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. She also dominated the glass, notching 12 rebounds to secure a double-double and added four steals on the defensive end.
Cyclones Take Control Early
Despite a slow opening quarter, Centenary surged to a 35–23 halftime lead behind its defensive pressure and transition scoring. The Cyclones then broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Wilkes 22–15, and never looked back, adding a 20-point fourth quarter to seal the 30-point triumph.
Centenary's offense was efficient, shooting 42% from the field and using a strong interior attack to tally 40 points in the paint. The Cyclones also capitalized on their depth, collecting 23 bench points.
Supporting Cast Shines
Behind Davis, Kayla Sampong added nine points, four assists, and three rebounds, while Makayla Williams chipped in six points and five boards. Centenary also earned a decisive rebounding edge, 58–30, allowing consistent second-chance opportunities.
