Women's Basketball Drops Third Straight Game In AEC

Immaculata, PA: The Cyclones fall to 0-3 in conference play after dropping a road contest to the Mighty Macs of Immaculata. The final score of the contest was 89-74, Macs.

Inside the Box Score

After two close contests to open up Atlantic East Action, the Cyclones traveled to PA in search of their first win in conference play. The Clones offense would go on to post a total of seventy-four points on the day, as they were able to tie up the score three separate times throughout the opening minutes of the game. A majority of the Clones points came from scoring in the paint, as they recorded a total of forty points in the paint, while also posting eleven second chance points. The Cyclones would receive contributions from their role players, finishing the game with twenty-two points from bench players. As a team, the defense forced fifteen turnovers on seven steals, while also contributing four blocks. On the glass, the Clones were able to come down with thirty-nine rebounds.

Game Standouts

Leading the team in points for the game was, Brie Opdyke. The senior guard thrived on both sides of the floor scoring 22 points, 5 assists, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block. Opdyke also went 3-4 at the charity stripe for the game.

Picking up a double-double, was sophomore forward Vatijah Davis. Davis concluded the contest with he second most points with 18 points, and led the team in rebounds with 11 boards. On the defensive end, Davis recorded 1 steal, and 1 block.

Sofia Mendez provided a spark for the Cyclones off the bench, scoring a total of 9 points in the game. Mendez would also contribute the second most assists for the Clones with 4 total assists.
