Women's Volleyball Splits Tri-Match At King's

Wilkes-Barre, PA: The Cyclones traveled to King's College to take on Rosemont College, and King's College in a tri-match. The Clones would go on to sweep Rosemont in three straight sets, and dropped the following three sets to King's. Their record now sits at 2-5 on the season.

Game One

The Clones dominated in the first game, as they held Rosemont to eleven, ten, and eight points in the sweep. As a team, the Cyclones scored forty-seven points on twenty-six kills, and twenty-one service aces. Once again leading the charge offensively was Poppy Skjonnemand (12), leading the team in kills, as Jenny Thistlethwaite (6), and Cameron Fulcher (4) would finish among the top three for the Cyclones. Thistlethwaite (8), Asia Logan (6), and Isabel Moreira (4) each recorded multiple service aces throughout game one. Vanessa Pagano, and Kim Stallworth posted ten saves each in the win. Logan (9), Thistlethwaite (6), and Alea Herman (5) finished among the teams top three in digs.

Game Two

The Cyclones recorded thirty-three total points in the loss, coming by way of twenty-seven kills, four aces, and two blocks. Leading the team in kills were Poppy Skjonnemand (14), Jenny Thistlethwaite (6), and Cameron Fulcher (4). Picking up where they left off were, Asia Logan (2), Thistlethwaite (1), and Vanessa Pagano (1) by adding to their total number of aces through both games. Cameron Fulcher recorde both of the teams two blocks in the second game. Leading the team in digs were, Thistletthwaite (15), Logan (12), and Skjonnemand (12).

The Cyclones will look to jump back into the win column, as they travel to Delaware Valley on Tuesday, September 10th.
